Summary
- Traditionally used in Western Herbal Medicine to
- Relieve symptoms of hayfever, allergic rhinitis and sinusitis
- Act as a decongestant and expectorant
- Soothe irritated tissues
- Relieve symptoms of common colds and flu
Dosage
- Adults: 5 - 10 mL 2 - 3 times daily
- Children 3 - 12 years: 1 - 5 mL 2 - 3 times daily
- Can be diluted with water, fruit juice or other fluids if necessary
Warnings
Contains ethanol
- Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding
- Exercise caution taking before / after surgery, or in diabetes
- Not to be used in children under 2 years of age without medial advice
- Up to a maximum of six weeks treatment; allow significant treatment breaks before continuing
- Contra-indicated with concomitant use of digoxin, diuretics, laxatives, cardiac glycosides anti-coagulant drugs, protease inhibitors, anti-hypertensive agents and potassium-depleting drugs
