What led you to being involved in acnem?

I have been involved, on and off, since 1986 as a student, teacher and promoter of the original acnem vision. My interest increased in 2019 with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) and AHPRA threats to Integrative, Nutritional and Environmental Medicine practitioners and practice. I wanted to be in a position to effect change in healthcare in Australia, to move from disease management to HEALTH management and acnem provided me with the best opportunities to achieve this outcome.

What are some of the projects acnem are working on at present?

acnem has been very active in the last 12 months updating most of our education modules with the latest evidence-based information from the leading integrative healthcare practitioners and researchers from around the world. We have added more content, more resources and more modules – including our focus on long COVID.  We are just about to release our brand new Women’s Health modules (which have the option of one day face-to-face o online). These are absolutely jam-packed with speakers, presentations, case studies and resources!  We also can’t wait to meet everyone at our 40thAnniversary party and AGM in November – a party where we can get together, reminisce, and look to the future with optimism!! On top of that, we have our Mental Health module in development for February release – another chance to get together for one day.  And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

What are the benefits of being a member of acnem?

acnem members have a range of benefits available to them:

  • 20% off all courses (online, face-to-face, conference and networking events)
  • Free monthly webinars
  • Quarterly acnem Journal
  • Access to the Member Resource Hub, which houses the library of webinars from the last few years, podcasts, recipes and exercises/meditations (to share with patients) and a range of presentations
  • Find-a-Practitioner listing

How can a member get involved with acnem?

Members can get involved in acnem through any of our education offerings, our Member Resource Hub and our events. We also strongly encourage thoughts and feedback so that we can continuously improve our offerings or look to curating new information.

Our focus is to build an integrative healthcare community through education. We look to any opportunity we can to do this.
